Round Church, Balatonfüred
The building, officially dedicated to Jesus Talking With a Samaritan Woman, is commonly known as the Round Church.
A well known sight of Balatonfüred, it was designed by Antal Fruman and built between 1841-46. The late Classicist style church was planned to resemble the Roman Pantheon. The main altarpiece was painted by Henrietta Kaergling and depicts Jesus talking with a Samaritan woman. The altarpiece of the bye-altar was painted by János Vaszary and depicts Christ on the cross.
At the main entrance there are two bronze reliefs commemorating the those who found refuge in Balatonfüred from the communist terror of 1919.
Due to its round shape, it has become a symbol of Balatonfüred. It can be visited after registration.
