On the corner of Budafoki Street and Hengermalom Street Újbuda Center is home to more than 30 shops in an industrial monument.
Easy access by car and public transport (Bus 33, 103, 133 and 233) makes it attractive for more potential guests.
In fact, the building of Újbuda Center used to be that of Hungarian Cable Works. When production ended the manufacturing hall built in 1960 was not pulled down but remodeled instead to preserve it for future use. The facade facing Hengermalom Street with offset windows is the most distinctive part of the building.
An architecture tour in Újbuda This route helps to discover a selection of 20th century architectural attractions of the district, especially those that reopened with a new function after having lost their old one: bus station transformed into a restaurant and café, or a gearbox factory turned into a supermarket.
