Tour

Railroad station in Csömödér forest

From the forest railway station in Csömödér, turn left towards Páka (south) and take a low-traffic junction to southwest. At the junction, take the road to Dobri, then turn left in the direction of the red sign and go to the charming Szécsisziget.

Szécsisziget

At the beginning of the 1700s, the watermill gained its baroque age-typical shape. The building now functions as an exhibition space and tourist accommodation, preserving its former beauty and shape.

The baroque church of the settlement is decorated with frescoes by Johannes Pöchl.

The castle of the Szapáry family was built using a part of the Szécsisziget Castle in the 18th century. In connection with the Nature Park program, a buffalo reserve was established near the castle.

Return from the settlement to the small road and head south. At the road signing Lovászi we turn west.

Lovászi

The dominant settlement of the Hungarian oil industry is Lovászi. Numerous memories of oil extraction are preserved by the settlement. From Lovászi, head north towards Kerkateskánd, head east. Beautiful village belfry stands on Béke Street. Turning to the main road, head north, you will find a bike path soon. At the Lenti-Lentiszombathely bicycle junction, turn to the east. Pass the bridge on the bicycle road through Kerka river.

Frame tree

Biking on a winding bicycle leads to the so-called "fram tree", which is an old oak guarding a statue of Mary. The memories of folk religion are probably in the 19th century. It was born in the 18th century, in honor of the Virgin Mary.

Lentiszombathely - forest railway stop

Bicycling in the direction of northeast along the main street of the settlement part (Szombathelyi út)! At the beginning of Tavasz Street stands the large belfry, built at the end of the 19th century. At the end of the settlement is the Mumor-Lentiszombathely forest railway station.

From here the Lenti station (end of the line) is 15 minutes away by train.
