Town Hall, Esztergom
The Baroque building built between 1772-1773 is a defining feature of the main square of Esztergom. It was built on the spot of the house of a general in Rákóczi's War of Indepencence, János "Blind" Bottyán, which was struck by a lightning and burned down in 1770. The present day building was originally built as a school and it operated as such until 1908.
On the ground floor of the Town Hall, there is an arcade composed of 11 arches running along. The main facade of the building has a projection articulating the main entrance and the first floor great hall. On the first floor's wavy balcony, there is an arm and a sword referring to the city's medieval right for blood court.
