Ferenc Borus started collecting and restoring lamps in the 1960's, and after his collection grew large, he opened the Lamp Museum in 1979. Today more than 1000 lamps, candle holders and lanterns ranging from the 1750's up until today. The exhibition even set a Guinness World Record, and the founder received a Golden Memorial Medal from the President of Hungary in 1999.
