Bishopric Collection of Vác and the Provost’s Palace
The former Provost' Palace is an important Baroque monument of the diocese. The medieval building was rebuilt in the 18th century, this is evidenced by the inscription above the balcony. Up until the mid-20th century, the palace served as the residence of the provost.
Besides the Baroque ornaments, the facade contains Classicist elements such as Ionic column capitals and the triangular pediment. The wrought-iron balcony is also worth noting.
The renovated palace houses the Bishopric Collection where the visitors can see a rich collection of medieval and Baroque textiles, statues and paintings. Since 2006, the palace is also location of Baroque chamber concerts.
