Villa Krúdy, Siófok
Located only 100 meters from the Balaton, the villa built at the end of the 19th century served in the beginning as the home of photographer Ede Ellinger.
The famous Hungarian writer, Gyula Krúdy spent his summers here between 1914 and 1919. During his time here he stayed at the boarding house of Gyula Várady who was the owner of the Hotel Royal where Krúdy lived. In this boarding house, the later Villa Krúdy, he met the stepdaughter of Várady, Zsuzsa Rózsa whom he married a few years and a divorce later.
Today the villa consists of two buildings, the one nearer to the street houses a restaurant and the other one is the boarding house.
